6 Top Wineries at Lake of the Ozarks

You don't need to go far to experience fine wine in an elegant and serene setting…Missouri is one of the top wine producing states in the country!  In fact, Missouri has over 100 wineries and nearly 400 vineyards operating throughout the state.  Lake of the Ozarks has several wonderful wineries that make this list!  

The area wineries are known for their fine wines and delicious food - Many of the wineries will offer live entertainment and events throughout the year as well  As you hit the trail here are a few wineries to add to your list!
  1. Casa de Loco Winery - located at 442 Riverbird Ln in Camdenton - off of Lake Road 54-85.  The breathtaking view from a bluff top overlooking the Big Niangua River and original stone staircase to the water make this the perfect spot to come for a few hours, spend the day, or even a few! Come visit us at the “house of the crazy” for one unforgettable experience!
  2. Golden Rock Winery - located at 955 N. Bus. Hwy 5 in Camdenton. The place to come and Un-Wine-d in the heart of Lake of the Ozarks! This winery offers complimentary wine tastings daily with weekday lunch and dinner specials. The casual atmosphere paired with wines made from the finest grapes sourced from vineyards around the world make this stop a must!!
  3. Seven Springs Winery - located at 846 Winery Hills Estates in Linn Creek.  The Winery and Vineyard sits atop 160 acres of rolling Missouri foothills between Camdenton and Osage Beach, less than a 10 minute drive from either location. The covered porch and patio area are ideal for enjoying a glass of wine and admiring the beautiful views.  You can also enjoy live music every Saturday and Sunday. Come for the wine – stay for the atmosphere - remember the view! 
  4. Shawnee Bluff Vineyards - located at 8 Tollwood Road, Eldon - off Hwy 54 between Lake Ozark and Eldon. Follow the billboards & look for the world's largest wine bottle by the entrance, just minutes from Lake Ozark. The vineyard has a restored banquet room that is spacious and versatile for any event. The venue has high ceilings with a rustic feeling and wine barrels to enhance the ambiance. Tours will be provided.
  5. Shawnee Bluff Winery - located at 2430 Bagenll Dam Blvd. in Lake Ozark. Shawnee Bluff Winery offers wine by the bottle, glass and tastings in a beautiful setting with gorgeous views of the Lake of the Ozarks. Situated atop the bluff with a 14 mile panoramic view of Lake of the Ozarks it is truly a picturesque setting.
  6. Sugarloaf Vineyard - located at 66 Feline Lane in Camdenton, off of Hwy 54. The Vineyard is an outdoor venue with wine tasting, music, BBQ, Pizza, Cheeses. With 7 types of wine and draft beer, you can eat and drink in the outdoor tasting pavilion or enjoy at our waterfront picnic grounds and watch the boating activity on the Lake of the Ozarks.
These are just six wineries in the immediate area. Pair these options with others in region and you'll have a full week!!

The St Patty's Day Water Parade is This Weekend!!

One of the fun things about being a Lake of the Ozarks resident is that you will enjoy UNIQUE events like the a WATER Parade!!  This Saturday, March 15 will be the 23rd Annual St Patty's Day Water Parade! This parade is a fun day trip around the Lake of the Ozarks by water and a FUN way to kick off the Spring boating season!!  

 Participants will start the day with a great breakfast buffett at Ozark Bar-B-Que and then cruise the Gravois Arm to Richard Knoggins and Jolly Rogers.  Don't have a boat or haven't de-winterized your boat?  No problem, tickets are available for seats aboard the Tropic Island Cruise boat!  The tickets are limited and cost $30 which will include breakfast and a seat on the boat for the entire parade.  

 Souvenir long sleeve shirts will be available for purchase.  If you need additional information, please contact the Lake West Chamber at 573-374-5500 for more info, to register for the parade, reserve your seat on the Tropic Island or to order shirts in advance.  

 If you only have a few hours, the breakfast buffett will be open to anyone who would like to check out the boats and see the parade off at the dock.  Be sure to call Pamela Lanier at Ozark Bar-B-Que directly with the number in your party for planning purposes - 573-480-2477.  Cost for breakfast only is $10.
