The St Patty's Day Water Parade is This Weekend!!

One of the fun things about being a Lake of the Ozarks resident is that you will enjoy UNIQUE events like the a WATER Parade!!  This Saturday, March 15 will be the 23rd Annual St Patty's Day Water Parade! This parade is a fun day trip around the Lake of the Ozarks by water and a FUN way to kick off the Spring boating season!!  

Participants will start the day with a great breakfast buffett at Ozark Bar-B-Que and then cruise the Gravois Arm to Richard Knoggins and Jolly Rogers.  Don't have a boat or haven't de-winterized your boat?  No problem, tickets are available for seats aboard the Tropic Island Cruise boat!  The tickets are limited and cost $30 which will include breakfast and a seat on the boat for the entire parade.  

Souvenir long sleeve shirts will be available for purchase.  If you need additional information, please contact the Lake West Chamber at 573-374-5500 for more info, to register for the parade, reserve your seat on the Tropic Island or to order shirts in advance.  

If you only have a few hours, the breakfast buffett will be open to anyone who would like to check out the boats and see the parade off at the dock.  Be sure to call Pamela Lanier at Ozark Bar-B-Que directly with the number in your party for planning purposes - 573-480-2477.  Cost for breakfast only is $10.

Celebrate Christmas on the Square This Weekend!

Camdenton will kick off to the Christmas season this Saturday, December 7th with Christmas on the Square.  

Children of all ages are invited to come to the Camdenton Square around 11am when all the fun begins!

There will be games, a bounce house, ornament making, prize drawings, craft tables, a petting zoo, entertainment by the Camdenton School children’s choir and Xanadu dance team, cookies and more.  Santa Claus will arrive at noon and will be available to meet with children while other activities are going on until about 2 p.m.

Sponsored by the Camdenton Chamber of Commerce, all activities are free, including the hot dogs and hot chocolate. However, people are encouraged to bring canned goods that will then be donated to the LAMB House food pantry.

Thanksgiving Weekend at the Lake Is Full of GREAT Family Friendly Events

The feast is complete, dishes are done and the last Tupperware is sealed and in the fridge.  Now for some quality time with your family and friends!!  The Lake of the Ozarks always has great events that are perfect for the entire family!  Here are a few events we thought you might enjoy!

• Area Drive Through Light Parks are lit up!  Load up the car and begin on the trail.  The Enchanted Village of Lights is at the Laurie Fairgrounds. Be amazed by the numerous displays lining the 27 acre path. St. Patrick's Shrine also has a beautiful display on their grounds.  At the Versailles City Park is the Unity Circle of Lights display, located at the junction of Highways 5 and 52.  The light park will feature as many as 40 lighted displays, including several animated holiday scenes for the family. All parks are open at dark and admission is free but they do operate on donations.
• Enjoy the Laurie Lighted Christmas Parade Saturday November 30th at 6pm.  This West Side Parade will feature many floats all lit up for the occasion.  It will travel from Central Bank in Laurie up Hwy 5 to the Laurie Mall. Santa will be on hand to see all the kids inside the mall following the parade. 
  
• The Lake Area Community Orchestra brings musicians from the area together for this fun filled entertaining music concert series. The series kicks off Sunday, December 1st at the Community Christian Church in Camdenton.  All performances begin at 7pm and are free to the public so come enjoy the talented performances.

Fall In Water Boat Show & Clearance This Weekend

This weekend offers a unique way to go boat shopping.  The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association Fall In-water Boat Show and Clearance Sale is on at Captain Ron's at Lake Rd. 5-50 or the 34 ½ mile marker by water.

The Lake of the Ozarks Air Show Returns September 21st!!

The Lake of the Ozarks Air Show will be held on September 21, 2013!!!  This air show will deliver a fascinating show with a salute to our military and the return of the B-25 Bomber, Team Vortex Air Show, the Ping Pong Ball Drop, KC Flight Formation Team and new acts to be announced soon.

You will also have the opportunity to ride on the B-25 at the cost of $395 for a 90 minute experience, including a pre-flight safety briefing, 30 minute flight with opportunity to sit in the nose blister or rear gunner positions while in air and post flight question and answer sessions with the pilots on Saturday September 21. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended as seating will be limited.  Please contact CAF Col. Bob Moore at 314-486-1205 to book your ride.

*No outside coolers, food, beverages allowed. Blankets & lawn chairs are recommended.
