How To Get Your Backyard Ready For Fourth Of July

Fourth of July is just around the corner. This is a great holiday to spend time at your Lake of the Ozarks home. There are fireworks, concerts and fun community events happening all weekend long. If you're coming down to your home at the Lake of the Ozarks, here are a few things you can do to help prepare for your weekend festivities.

Clean Up The Porch

During Fourth of July, you will most likely spend a lot of time on your covered deck, so make sure it's ready for the holiday weekend. Pests love hanging out on porches as much as we do, but we don't want them hanging around for the festivities. Sweep up any debris that may have accumulated over the winter and spring months, clean up cobwebs, and if your porch has a table or chairs make sure those are wiped down for your guests.

Clean Barbeque Grill

There is no better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than barbecuing! Whether you're barbecuing for the first time this year or you've already got your grill out, it's a good idea to give it a good scrub down before using it this holiday weekend.

Create A Social Setting

During the summer months, you'll probably want to enjoy some time outside enjoying the beautiful view of the Lake of the Ozarks. When having company over, rearrange your outdoor furniture to a more social setting. If you have a firepit, placing the chairs around that is a great place to start. You'll want the chairs set up in a way where you can still easily interact, but still enjoy the beautiful view.

Get Yard Ready

If you'll be spending time outside, make sure your yard is cleaned up by mowing and ensuring that landscaping is taken care of. If you have walking paths, take a weed eater and clean up around them. In addition, make sure any debris from the past storms is cleaned up.

Get Creative With Lights

If you plan on your Fourth of July festivities lasting long into the night, you'll want to make sure you have plenty of lights. In addition to having walking paths lit up with path lighting, you may want to get more creative and place festive lights around the deck. The more light you have the more time you'll want to spend outside at night.

Keep Pests Off The Guest List

One downside to the summer months are the insects that come out to play. Make sure they're not invited to the festivities by taking preventative measures to ensuring your party is uninviting to pests. If you have any food out, make sure it's tightly covered, ensure any trash is placed into a sealed container and that the food prep area is cleaned well.

Celebrate National Homeownership Month With Mission Bay

National Homeownership Month is celebrated every year in June. At Mission Bay, we wanted to take this time to tell you about all the reasons it's great to be a homeowner in our beautiful residential development at the Lake of the Ozarks. It's an absolutely beautiful place to live with an abundance of family-friendly amenities, and it is located near many wonderful businesses and attractions.

In 1995, National Homeownership Month started out as National Homeownership week. In 2002, President George W. Bush decided to make it last the entire month of June. His proclamation encouraged all Americans to learn more about financial management and take the time to explore the opportunities to own their own home in their community.  After all, owning your own home is a large part of the American Dream.

There are many benefits to owning your own home. Having a place to call your own gives you a sense of pride and a positive outlook toward the future from the economic security that it provides. Successfully owning your own home is a wonderful credit-builder, and when taken care of properly will most likely increase in value. Purchasing a home is one of the biggest (and most fulfilling) investments that you will make in your life.

Benefits of Owning a Home in Mission Bay

Stunning Views

The gorgeous lakefront and lake view homes at Mission Bay are all beautifully tiered so that most have a stellar view of the magnificent Lake of the Ozarks. We are located on the 32 Mile Marker of the lake, and the development is designed for year-round living.

Wonderful Amenities

The amenities available to our residents include an exquisite clubhouse with a heated indoor pool, outdoor pool, and hot tub. There are multiple common areas, parks, and picnic areas for our residents to enjoy. There are also community docks, and a 1400' seawall and lakefront cart path to allow easy access all around. The path has a large patio picnic area out on the point that is great for family gatherings. The majority of the lots can accommodate flat driveways, which is not always the case for homes by the lake.

Conveniently located

Mission Bay is conveniently located and you can easily and quickly get almost anywhere by car or by water. There are a few different waterfront bars and restaurants nearby and the city of Camdenton is only 6 minutes away via Highway 5. You will have quick, easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, salons, shops, and much more in Camdenton, and Osage Beach is a short 15 miles past that.

Our team here at Mission Bay would love to show you what we have to offer. You are more than welcome to swing by our Lake of the Ozarks residential development anytime. You can also schedule a showing of the available homes by contacting us at 573-346-6600. We have both homes and lots available for purchase. Contact us soon to take a look at our beautiful Lake of the Ozarks waterfront homes.
